Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) - Global Aftersales Engineering and Service Operations (GAESO) supports all aspects of engineering to service and support the vehicle after it is sold.

Aftersales Engineering

A position in Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) Aftersales Engineering will apply strategies to improve the serviceability of GM Products, including ease of vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, repair, remanufacturability, and the avoidance of associated warranty costs; complete service determination on all new and interim part releases, and ensure all proper documentation is available within the Customer Care and Aftersales service part release system.

Other responsibilities include: Representing Service within the Vehicle Development Process, Powertrain Development Process framework, and with Engineering/program teams, conduct virtual serviceability assessments on assigned programs or commodities, complete Service Determination, investigate opportunities for service parts interchangeability, develop and author service information and owner's handbook information, develop diagnostic strategies and tools.

Work may also involve activities to analyze warranty costs, program readiness, performance parts development and support for Purchasing/Supply Chain activities.

Preferred academic majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology

Service Operations

A position in the Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) Service Operations area will focus on providing support to Dealers for service related activities including warranty administration, data analysis, failed part reviews, technical training, tools and equipment, service data licensing, technical service bulletins, and labor time development for vehicle repairs. Work also includes Brand Quality Management to identify, escalate, and resolve product issues, manage service bulletins and reduce warranty costs while acting as a laison to the Dealer and Customer facing teams (TAC, CAC, Field Service Engineering.)
