General Purpose of Position:

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Include preferred academic majors)
The BI and Data Analytics Developer will be responsible for analyzing the existing Data landscape at GM IT and work with the larger team in reconciling, enhancing and creating streamlined data models and data integration strategies. They will also play an integral role in creating the next generation platform for Business Intelligence at GM.
Other responsibilities will include report development, performing requirements gathering, and testing.
- BA in MIS or CIS, BS in Computer Science or related field
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Strong ability to comprehend complex technology and business problems
- Ability to work in a high paced, global environment
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to learn new concepts and apply them to solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Graduation dates: December 2016 or 2017
- Knowledge of data modeling, databases and data integration
- ETL tools and technologies
- Experience with SQL and reporting tools
- Familiarity with “big data” and analytics
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork – ability to work cross functionally
