Feature owners are the single-point corporate owner for critical feature definition and function. They are recognized leaders in their domain responsible for function and definition of feature content to meet performance requirements and creation of detailed requirements for technical implementation of features/functions.The Feature Owner will interact across organizations to ensure features/functions are integrated effectively into the vehicle and with the suppliers to implement new features/functions.

The following are expected outputs for the Feature Owner Engineer role:

·Lead Cross-Functional E2E Feature Development Teams (system engineers & other key stakeholders)

·Feature Performance Requirements

·Determine Feature Set & Sizing Recommendations

·System Modelling Tool Requirements

·Feature Technical Specification (including reliability)

·Feature Context Diagram (Including Data Flow Diagram (DFD) and one level of decomposition)

·Allocate System Requirements for Feature

·Feature Behavioral Model (Generic Requirements Level)

·System DFMEA/Fault Tree Analysis

·Field Assessments

·Drive ATW Plan for Feature / Approve New Feature Content

·Drive Validation &Verification plan for feature(s).

·Peer review team lead

Specific Connectivity Feature Owner responsibilities:

·Identify, communicate, and deliver on Connectivity roadmap

·Lead development of global engineering requirements for Connectivity

·Support tier 1 and 2 development of the Connectivity technologies into GM products

·Lead advanced development work in the Connectivity domain

·Build and maintain relationships across the Connectivity ecosystem community

Experience and solid understanding of: Wired and Wireless Connectivity technologies (USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, Near Field Communication, Phone Integration (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc.)

·Generate infotainment technical solutions for current and new and vehicle programs

·Performs complex design analysis

·Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)

·Implements engineering changes

·Specifies and balances system requirements

·Plans and implements test and/or development programs

·Support Design/Release team for production

·Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers

·Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products

·Travels as required

Basic Required:

·Understanding of automotive infotainment system operation

·Experienced with embedded automotive modules

·10+ years of relevant work experience

·Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required

·Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals

·Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area

·High level of oral and written communication skills

·Candidate should have one of the following engineering degrees:BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or strongly related Engineering Degree

·Prototyping experience

·Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms

·High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex

·High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others

Basic Preferred:

·MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or strongly related Engineering Degree
