Under the direction of the Plant President or Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the activities of employees in the manufacturing of trailers, truck and van bodies, and all specialty and related rental equipment.

The Production Supervisor will also:

• Develop and maintain departmental policies which are consistent with the overall company policies

• Develop and maintain a work group which is capable of meeting departmental objectives

• Select, hire and train new employees and maintain a cross-training program for existing personnel

• Recommend measures to improve manufacturing methods and the quality of finished products

• Initiate personnel actions on system members, such as salary increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including termination

• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules


• Check work at various stages of production to ensure a quality product and to resolve any problems that may occur

• Verify that owner numbers are correctly assigned and recorded for each vehicle, specialty rental items or general rental items

• Make final inspection of finished products, checking for serviceability and insuring that all paperwork is completed

• Must be familiar with all technical newsletters, change in policies and procedures, and a current update of working with blueprints• Understand and comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and company policies with regard to safety; must wear adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and use other safety and emergency equipment as needed

• Assign and schedule work and establish priorities in order to meet production schedules

• Review production schedules and plant work that must be performed, checking to make sure material and parts are available and placed into position on assembly line

• Provide technical assistance to operative personnel on abstruse production problems

• Advise management of the need for new machines or tools or a change in production methods in order to make assembly more efficient• Ensure that labor time and work performance are properly documented and that appropriate paperwork for the finished product is complete

• Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential


• Ideal candidates will be have production line manufacturing experience and able to read and comprehend technical drawings• 5-6 years of production line manufacturing experience• High School diploma or equivalent
