Manages an organization responsible for the business engagement and requirements analysis for information security solutions (including policies, procedures and technology solutions) to support/enable Aetna business processes and cost effectively and efficiently protect information and information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification; disclosure or destruction; or unauthorized access. Specific area of focus is Identity & Access Management (IAM) solution business customer engagement and requirements analysis for access provisioning/automation, identity & access governance/review, access control procedures/methodologies, and access analytics and intelligence.

Fundamental Components:

Manages the daily work flow within all or part of the group organization, specifically for IAM Business Engagement and IAM solution requirements analysis/management.(*)

Supervises supervisors or team leads or may direct the work of highly skilled technical specialists. Has the authority to hire new staff and terminate existing staff through appropriate corporate process. Responsible for pay administration and semi-annual appraisal process. (*)

Provides reports to Management regarding the effectiveness of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures and technologies, as required. (*)

Develops, manages and improves IAM-wide processes for engaging our business partners in order to ensure effective engagement and high business partner satisfaction. (*)

Monitors internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security controls are maintained. (*)

Establishes meaningful metrics on key process and technical controls for IAM, monitoring these to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and processes. (*)

Communicates unresolved information security exposures, misuse, or non-compliance situations to senior management. (*)

Develops and improves solution development and delivery processes for the department to ensure the greatest possible speed, efficiency and quality end to end.

Responsible for security expenditures for area of responsibility and for staying at or below forecast budget.

Maintains currency with government and regulatory affairs to ensure company compliance. (e.g. HIPAA, GLBA, SOX) Manages requirements for information security solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory environment as well as internal controls validation.

Ensures awareness of organization's information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors, alliances and other third parties. Actively promotes awareness and education through management presentations, staff meetings, collaboration with other departments and road shows.

Serves as an internal information security consultant to the organization related to IAM practices and controls.

Develops a high performing organization, including performance feedback, mentoring, and coaching.


6+ years direct experience with IT Business Analyst/Business Consulting work including requirements analysis & documentation and multiple SDLC methodologies (DevOps preferred)

3+ years direct experience supporting deployment and operations of Identity & Access Management solutions

4+ years direct experience managing IT teams


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
