Job Description:

The Strategic Relationships Manager is responsible for sales of integrated electronic control systems and products in multiple regions. Responsibilities include developing market awareness of life safety (fire alarm, security, communications) systems products and integration capabilities, implementing local marketing campaigns, prospecting for major sales opportunities and development of a strong customer base. The Strategic Relationships Manager must possess strong communications and customer relations skills. They must have a basic ability to design and configure integrated electronic control systems. Ideally the candidate will have East Coast sales success and will be a remote position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners in order to discover and explore new sales opportunities
  • Screens potential business contracts by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financial stability by evaluating options and recommending integrated systems
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures in line with Company policies through examination of risks and potentials and estimating a partners needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by developing and negotiating contracts and further assimilating contract requirements with business operations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
  • Enhances the Companys reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different applications by exploring opportunities
  • Other duties may be assigned

Experience and Skills:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Keen awareness and knowledge of the fire alarm, security or communications market, its major customers, its major competitors and the dynamics of the market
  • Substantial knowledge of integrated electronic control systems and product manufacturers
  • Must possess local industry awareness
  • Must demonstrate a consistent and proven pattern of sales success in the target market
  • Must possess the ability to market, prospect and propose major projects
  • Must be professional and articulate with a high-level of communication skills
  • Must have competitive knowledge of all territory competitors, their markets, products and pricing strategies
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet
  • High-level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Valid Drivers License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Sales/Marketing or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent understanding of the Public Safety & Security marketplace and the competitive landscape
  • Detailed technical understanding of Public Safety & Security enabling technologies and their application in the market
  • Comprehensive understanding of, and established relationships with one or more key target customer groups
  • Solid understanding and experience working with cross functional engineering teams; building and fielding solutions to complex public safety and security challenges
  • 5+ years successful sales of integrated electronic control systems in the local market, regional or vertical markets

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee will likely be placed in an office. The work environment characteristics are representative of those of an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
