As a leader, this position will develop, own, and communicate the digital media distribution products roadmap from initial product requirements to service launch. You will drive on-going and new product developments and digital service management through planning and collaboration, with customers, partners and internal teams. This role will lead the development and deployment of satellite-based digital distribution services and grow new innovative business models into profitable go-to-market strategy. We are looking for an experienced product manager professional and expert familiar with traditional global media distribution business models and technologies for both existing technologies and emerging video streaming trends, who can clearly articulate the Intelsat position to external audiences with vision and influence. This candidate will work closely with Business Development, Sales, and Product Marketing, Engineering, and Finance team members to drive such vision through the internal development process.
Develop Intelsat’s global service plans and roadmaps for OTT delivery services across all media business segments and verticals, in alignment with customer satisfaction goals and corporate strategy.
Lead the go-to-market strategy for digital services across industries with developed features, validated key concepts and compelling vision.
Understand market trends and rapidly align Intelsat’s satellite and terrestrial assets in the market through development, evaluation, and management of the OTT delivery product and service suite.
During development regularly review the competitive landscape comparing pricing, features, and overall design and course correct product plans accordingly.
Provide guidance on potential Partnership expansion initiatives that would enhance Intelsat’s services feature set deployment and position in the future market space.
Methodically document product requirements and roadmap milestones through the development of use cases and trend analysis supporting product plans and associated business plans.
Create and communicate product value proposition analysis for both targeted customer segments and commercial business, to the Marketing and Sales teams and generate revenue forecast in collaboration of Sales leaders
Collaborate with Service Architecture and Engineering in the development of, CapEx, & OpEx budgets for the product/service line.
Work with the Finance team to maximize product and service revenue, profitability, and operational product metrics.
Assist Product Marketing with the development of collateral and training to be used by Sales and any other customer-facing organization.
Be a subject matter expert (SME) and establish working relationships with cross-functional teams throughout the company.
Oversee regular and specialized research and analysis for proposed new products and services.
Build a reputation as a business leader by demonstrating product expertise, representing Intelsat as a speaker at industry conferences, and publishing white papers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or similar discipline.
At least ten years of hands on Product Development or Management experience in the global telecommunications industry, with video distribution industry and streaming technologies experience highly preferred (or an equivalent amount of education and work experience).
Significant understanding of video playout and distribution value chain technologies, pay TV standards and international media business models.
Proven experience in Product Management, with a track record of developing complex business plans for new products and services using both internal and external information.
Technical proficiency to successfully collaborate with Engineering on the development milestones and documentation of new product concepts.
Ability to analyze research and provide conclusions impacting product and business plans.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels.
Experience in building and maintaining internal and external technical and, business relationships.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required, along with the ability to make effective presentations across diverse audiences.
