Our security team has an outstanding reputation for meeting the needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, offering assistance and providing excellent customer service. They proactivley work to prevent theft and vandalism and may occasionaly be involved in high risk or potentially dangerous situations which require a range of safety precautions.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes
Patrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports
Documents daily activities in report writing system
Provides assistance to patients, visitors and staff
Responds to calls for services
Assists in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking
Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers
1 to 2 years experience required depending on education
High school diploma and 2 years security experience or Associate Degree and 1 year security experience
Preferred Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field
Class D Drivers License.
Basic computer knowledge required.
Must be able to pass MN BCA, FBI and HHS background check.
Must pass HealthEast background check.
Must be able to pass FTO, CPR and Use of Force Training.
Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc).

Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves.
Utilizing policies, procedures, and practices to minimize or eliminate unacceptable risk; application of qualitative or quantitative techniques to reduce uncertainty of outcomes, liabilities, or losses.
Knowledge and application of safety practices, fire and disaster policies and procedures; safety testing, performance verification, and operations procedures for various types of equipment.
Knowledge and skills related to precautions and activities that prevent or guard against crime, attack, sabotage, or destruction.
