As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
• Developing and refining travel demand models primarily using Cube/Voyager under the supervision of a senior modeler • Running travel demand models to estimate future traffic and toll revenue for toll road studies • Providing input into data needs assessment, and assisting in the development of data collection plan in support of traffic modeling efforts • Performing necessary quality control steps as defined by senior technical staff • Performing necessary traffic and toll revenue project research • Assisting in the design and development of travel surveys and analyzing travel characteristics for the planned transportation facilities • Analyzing and interpreting results of transportation models and statistical analysis • Assisting in the conduct of risk assessment and risk analysis • Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of work for toll projects under the supervision of senior technical staff • Assisting in the development of planning strategy and recommendations • Providing modeling expertise to project teams • Contribute to associated project correspondence • Initiating and performing assigned project administration duties (monitoring budget and schedule, preparing correspondence, and participating in general office duties)
Master’s degree in planning or civil engineering or bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years' previous experience in a related field. Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Access) expected. Candidate must have excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience with traffic and toll revenue studies •Experience with travel demand models using software tools such as Cube/voyager, TP+, and TransCad; •Experience with conducting and analyzing travel characteristics for the planned transportation facilities, including travel surveys, traffic counts, and travel time and delay studies; •Experience with micro-simulation models such as VISSIM •Experience with analyzing and interpreting results of transportation models, geographic and statistical analysis using VBA, MS Access, GIS and SPSS; •Experience with tracking, researching and analyzing local, regional, and national socio-economic and macro-economic parameters and forecasts; •Experience conducting risk assessment and risk analysis using Monte Carlo Simulation •Good writing and communication skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
