Coordinate and implement programs related to Shire’s political action committee (PAC), including soliciting and recruiting donors. Coordinate events and represents Shire at PAC hosted events / programs.
Political Action Committee (PAC) Operations and Compliance
Supervise the execution and compliance of the PAC work handled by the Political Programs Coordinator and work with that person in a collaborative manner.
Analyze and process political requests to be paid from the PAC. Coordinate with external compliance vendor to ensure that the recorded detailed information for Federal Election Commission is accurate. Ensure that the disbursements are within the federal/state contribution limits set by law.
Oversee and review the administration of the bank accounts for Funds: deposits, transfers, disbursements, monthly reconciliation.
Review monthly payroll deduction reports. Oversee the deposit of funds and record detailed information for FEC filings. Ensure contributions are being recorded accurately.
Oversee the preparation, process and the submission of monthly and quarterly federal election reports by the external consultant. Monitor monthly reporting procedures required by FEC.
Supervise the management of the Political Programs Coordinator of the PAC and Grassroots Databases essential to all financial records.
Maintain Articles of Organization.
Work with external legal consultants to analyze changes in campaign contribution laws.
• Manage Shire’s fulfillment of reporting obligations, including, but not limited to, processes and procedures to comply with federal and state election laws and lobbying laws, preparing quarterly and annual lobbying reports, database input and generate reports, etc.
• Manage completion of federal lobbying compliance reports, including quarterly LD-2 and biannual LD-203 reports for Congress.
Manage Shire’s grassroots program, which includes overseeing the Political Programs Coordinator and working with a team of key contacts on the federal and state level to influence governmental and legislative affairs toward positions favorable to the company and to engage more employee involvement in the political process.
Manage, promote, and market Shire’s programs externally to increase the awareness of and commitment to the company’s customers in multicultural groups. Partner with Shire’s global inclusion groups to promote and assist with achieving Shire’s diversity inclusion goals. Partner with global inclusion groups to promote Shire’s commitment in underserved communities.
Manage activities of speakers working with Shire in multicultural groups, cultivate relationships with ethnic, civic, cultural and political organizations to ensure company efforts have reach and scope. To ensure that Shire has more patients from multicultural communities and we drive policies in these communities.

Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience with at least three years’ experience raising money for a political action committee.
• Experience working on political campaigns, at the state and/or federal level
• Spanish language fluency highly desirable
