Position Purpose

Has overall responsibility for maintenance functions and equipment; supervises maintenance staff and related work in agency buildings or on agency vehicles; coordinates with outside contractors as necessary for installations or repairs.Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Utilizes knowledge of mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling fundamentals to perform assignments
  • Analyzes, prioritizes and resolves technical maintenance problems
  • Maintains operating conditions of facilities and equipment by scheduling, supervising and/or completing necessary ad hoc repairs and routine maintenance items
  • Reviews maintenance requests to identify problems, resolutions and priorities, and delegates or completes assignments as appropriate
  • Arranges, coordinates and monitors facilities services performed by outside contractors
  • Oversees or performs work on minor to moderate construction or remodeling projects
  • Provides assistance with major facility construction plans
  • Assists facilities in their adherence to OSHA, zoning, hazardous waste, fire safety or traffic regulations
  • Makes recommendations for needed facilities and equipment renovations and repairs
  • Supervises and directs Maintenance personnel. Supervises AYUDA program enrollees assigned to the maintenance department
  • Operates company-owned vehicles for work-related assignments, following all procedures established by CCS Driver Safety Policy
Minimum Qualifications

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position, and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

  • Technical School or 2 years of additional related post secondary education
  • 5 years of experience in maintenance and repair in the areas of carpentry, plumbing and electrical
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license for State of Arizona, proof of insurance and minimum standard 39 month MVR report
  • Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Proven strong communication skills – oral, and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar and tone
  • Proven record of excellent customer service and teamwork
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop and reach
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. 20% of the shift
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical (outlets and fuses), surface flooring
  • Experience with tag and lockout procedures
  • Additional years of experience in carpentry, construction, or electrical work
  • Bilingual, English / Spanish verbal and written
