Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a professional Business Development Representative to join the largest Hydrovac business in North America in ourRegina or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.,location (other locations in Saskatchewan will also be considered). The Badger Hydrovac system is a non-destructive method of excavating using pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely and cleanly excavate around underground utilities and pipelines in the oil & gas, utility and municipal sectors.

The Business Development Representative is responsible for planning and implementing comprehensive internal and external programs that increase revenue and profits. This role is in a key position to formulate innovative business development strategies with our leadership team. The Business Development Representative will form productive and sustainable relationships with external business partners and the community to ensure the ongoing success of our operations. Achieves budget targets in both revenue and department expense categories, and provide guidance in the field of accounting.

Job Duties

  • Execute Badger Daylighting LP strategic plans

  • Conduct market research and analysis

  • Promote the mission and values of the organization both internally and externally

  • Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness, staying current in terms of trends and innovations

  • Stay up to date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments

  • Maintain and develop knowledge of services, act as a resource for internal and external inquiries.

  • Utilize all available tools to identify and develop potential sales leads for the organization

  • Assist in the creation of marketing campaigns for services.

  • Carry out feasibility studies/business plans for product or service improvement, customizing, re-modeling and new service development

  • Facilitate all aspects of the proposal process, including project and proposal coordination and liaising with customers, insurance, and legal parties

  • Participate in developing a process to gather continuous feedback from clients

  • Other assignments as necessary


  • Extensive travel required

  • Working experience in the Hydrovac industry preferred

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in business development

  • Possess the following personal qualities: integrity, creativity, high standards, commitment, ethical values, and achievement oriented

  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills

  • Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions to create effective plans, etc.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills

  • Able to interact effectively with management, the public and staff

  • Understanding of the industry and area of service

  • Able to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions

  • Confident with decision making in regards to determining project guidelines, purpose, following through and completion

  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required

  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts

  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
