Caterpillar Financial currently has an opportunity for an Accounting Assistant to join the teamin a temporary capacity of 3-6 months in the Tullamarineoffice.
In this role you will assist qualified accountants to perform accounting duties as well as perform accounting duties of an entry level nature.
You will be responsible for; reconciling leasing or other systems to the general ledger; preparing basic reconciliations; preparing reports; researching, clearing, and communicating booking or posting errors to the appropriate parties; conducting or assisting in the documentation of accounting projects; preparing or assisting in the preparation of accounting reports and year-end activities.

Further duties may include;
Under supervision, performs accounting duties of entry level complexity.
Performs daily and monthly reconciliations of assigned bank accounts to the General Ledger.
Report and investigate inconsistencies or problems occur which are Confers with management to determine the proper means by which to resolve these issues.
Applies knowledge of basic accounting methods and procedures.
May participate in accounting system development, testing and implementation.
- Understands the established continuous improvement objectives for the department. Measures progress toward the continuous improvement standards and ensure that the necessary measurements are maintained. Participates in the resolution of any identified problems. Analyzes data and makes all business decisions based on such analysis.
To be successful in this role you will need to;
Demonstrated ability to seek out relevant information.**
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply advanced math computation skills including, basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.**
An understanding of accounting distribution principles and demonstrated ability to verify correctness and completeness of such information.**
Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.**
Sound knowledge of software packages associated with accounting.**
Must show initiative, leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively.**
- Diploma of Accounting or relevant work experience.
