We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of a Failure Analysis Technician 1 for our motherboard repair operations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Completes component level trouble shooting (capacitor, resistors, etc. ) and failure analysis

  • Tests, troubleshoots and repairs complex system failures, as required

  • Conducts visual mechanical inspection (VMI) of units, components and subcomponents

  • Assembly & disassembly of units, computer components and subcomponents

  • Performs computer data entry using Microsoft excel and/or internal databases including production systems

  • Identifies through testing any opportunities for improvement (ex. test and or process gaps)

  • Follows procedures and diagrams in performing engineering change orders, as required

  • Visual mechanical inspection (VMI) of Computer Systems, computer components (LCD, Motherboards, etc.) and/or subcomponents

  • Interfaces with production, quality, receiving, inventory and engineering teams daily

  • All other duties assigned by supervisor

Skills, Education and Training

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Computer repair or other related field

  • 0-2 years experience in FA role or 4 plus years in electronics quality inspection role

  • Proficiency working with a computer and various databases

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics/block diagrams with detailed understanding of computer and subassembly functionality

  • Familiarity with MS Office (advanced excel)

  • Familiar with computer software and operating systems and possess the ability to identify and perform software updates (OS,BIOS, Drivers, Firmware)

  • ability to use electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes & multi-meters, etc.)

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure quality requirements are met

  • Proficient in the English language (oral and written)

  • Ability to follow documented procedures and processes

  • Close supervision provided
