OIC CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief Actuary in our Rates & Forms Division. This position contributes to OIC goals of protecting consumers, maintaining a healthy insurance climate, and improving customer service by managing OIC's Actuarial Services Unit.

WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?
Our OIC office is located in the City of Tumwater and is just south of our State Capitol in Olympia. The OIC Tumwater office is walking distance from a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, bus lines, and is within close access to Interstate 5, shopping centers, and health facilities.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manages OIC's Actuarial Services Unit;
- Provides property/casualty or life actuarial resources to the Rates and Forms Division;
- Provides property/casualty or life actuarial resources to the Company Supervision Division;
- Depending on your primary actuarial experience you will attend meetings of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and represent Washington at meetings and conference calls of the Casualty Actuarial and Statistical (C) Task Force and its subgroups; OR the Life Actuarial (A) Task Force and its subgroups, the Speed to Market (EX) Task Force, the Property and Casualty Insurance (C) Committee and its working groups; OR the Life Insurance and Annuities (A) Committee and its working groups; and,
- Provides actuarial expertise to the discussion, drafting and review of legislation, regulations and other technical guidelines.
- 10 years of actuarial experience;
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries; and,
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with insurance regulatory issues and requirements;
- Experience supervising actuarial staff; and,
- Experience serving in a lead role for property and casualty or life insurance. Agency Core Competencies:
