Fatigue Technology Design Engineer in Tukwila, Washington

Fatigue Technology (a PCC Company), is an internationally known leader in the design and manufacture of aerospace fastening, bushings and fittings. Fatigue Technology has operated since 1969, and has developed innovative products for both metal and composite applications that are used on commercial and military rotor and fixed wing aircraft worldwide. FTI products are approved and used by virtually every airplane and helicopter manufacturer. FTI is looking for a Design Engineer for its manufacturing operation in Tukwila, WA. Position Summary: This position will be primarily responsible for certain administrative duties of the Engineering Department. The Engineer will work with mentors (other Engineers) to oversee Product Application Development, Project Management and other engineering projects. Complete the required tasks, drawings, parts, specimens, etc. for the timely completion of Engineering projects both internal to FTI and under contract to FTI. Develop and maintain familiarization on all FTI products. Core Competencies Required for this Position: • Technical background with demonstrated experience in design, structural analysis and testing. • Good verbal and written communications skills. • Detail oriented. • Good Mechanical Aptitude • Ability to multi-task. • Strong project management skills. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Primary Responsibilities: • Applies process and quality specifications to FTI and customer parts. • Expedites necessary items for successful project completion. • Communicates with sales, production and customers to achieve design goals and meet schedules. • Creates and checks Engineering Drawings. • Project Management. • Writes Technical Reports and Project Summaries. • Manufacturing Support. Minimum Education or Experience: • B.S. degree from ABET accredited program, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. • 2-4 years relevant engineering experience desired. • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Proficiency in SolidWorks. • Basic knowledge of GD&T, mechanical design principles and PLM drawing review. • FEA and Aircraft Structures familiarity desired. • Programming and scripting skills (Python, Java, SQL, visual Basic) desired.
