Cosma International Global Financial Controller in Troy, Michigan

The Global Financial Controller is responsible for compiling, reviewing and reporting on the financial status of the Cosma Engineering Group of companies, monitoring and reporting on the internal control environment, implement systems which safe guard the company’s assets, mentoring and training of accounting staff, and acting as liaison for engineering divisions with Magna & Cosma personnel.
Ensure the accuracy and timely financial reporting of Cosma Engineering, R&D;, Prototype, and Sales & Marketing divisions. Review and report on the actual financial performance to budget & forecast to Cosma & Magna.
Responsible for all journal entries and final trial balance including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
Review Capital and REAF requests submitted by engineering divisions.
Quarterly Bonus calculation and approval.
Effectively manage the working capital components of the Group.
Active management of overheads and seeking out areas for efficiencies and savings.
Quarterly and annual review of group and divisional internal control environment based on Magna guidelines and Sox requirements.
Review and close divisional internal audit issues.
Adhere to company policies and play an active role in assisting management maintain a legal and ethical environment.
Timely preparation, review, and submission of annual budgets.
Timely preparation, review, and submission of monthly and quarterly forecasts.
Support Magna’s Tax group in the development and execution of the Group’s taxation strategy (transfer pricing, R&D; tax credit, ITC, fixed assets, & depreciation).
Support Magna’s tax group with preparation of annual and quarterly tax returns.
Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.
Manage internal & external audit engagements (financial, DOE, R&D; tax credit, Tax . . .)
Effectively manage, motivate, review, and develop finance employees.
Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, brokers, bankers and other parties as required.
Keep key stakeholders up to date on progress against key milestones.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
Carry out any further tasks for which your qualifications & experience are suited as directed by the Company.
Review of annual salary & bonus proposals.
Review Contracts as necessary (employee, equipment leases, building leases, general).
Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary. Work toward continuously improving the organization.
Give direction and leadership towards the achievement of each division’s strategy and it's annual goals and objectives.
Preferred knowledge of Hyperion, Navision, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
Knowledge and Education
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
Education Preferred: Master's Degree
Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience required
Skills and Competencies
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience required
Approximately 50% International Travel Required
