BIM / CAD Technical Specialist (Inventor) - Troy, MI Flux Location: Michigan, Troy DescriptionFlux is currently searching for a BIM / CAD Technical Specialist (Inventor) to be part of our onsite team. This person will be working with a global A/EPCM firm with more than 20 offices around the world and projects in more than 30 countries. Projects include program management services from site selection through design, construction, commissioning and start-up, for seamless project delivery.Summary:The BIM Technical Specialist has entrepreneurial spirit and constantly seeks out new opportunities for creativity and innovation. They work in a multi-discipline team environment and are able to prioritize and execute BIM activities with a core focus on efficiency and collaboration. The successful candidate confidently explains BIM principals, particularly using Autodesk Inventor, to all levels of design and construction professionals. They will advise Project Managers and Design Teams on best approaches and techniques to achieve project goals.Primary duties and responsibilities:•Provide technical support, proactive development, guidance, training and education relating to Autodesk Inventor and other Machine Design applications.•Configure, install, and maintain application and configuration files.•Create and maintain Company and Client standards, templates, and model content.•Provide direct support to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for project teams.•Create and maintain HOW-TO and WORKFLOW documentation as it relates to CAD/BIM/VDC best practices.•Create, and provide training and follow-up learning activities for the operations staff.•Interact with Operations staff to identify customization needs for design applications.•Participate in and lead pilot projects for the implementation of new technologies and new versions of modeling, engineering, and analysis software.•Investigate and implement new design and engineering productivity tools (plug-ins, new software, etc.)Knowledge, skills, and abilities:•Mechanical engineering background with an emphasis in machine design or the manufacturing industry.•Advanced skills required in Autodesk Inventor.•Knowledge of large Autodesk Inventor project set-up and collaboration across multiple offices.•Experience with Autodesk applications on large, multi-discipline projects.•Knowledge of Laser Scanning and point cloud file manipulation.•Proven analytical and problem solving skills.•Flexible in adopting new technologies and processes.•Experience presenting to internal external groups on BIM subject matter.•Experience implementing Industry-standard BIM methods and project execution planning.•Problem solving skills and interest in process improvements as it relates to design and construction deliverables.•SolidWorks Office Professional and Enterprise PDM 2014 or newer desirable but not required.•Experience with AutoCAD 2015 or newer.Flux is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity in our workplace.
