The Key Account Manager is responsible with the Customer Business Team for developing a Powerful Customer Partnership in order to deliver the customer Joint Business Plan (JBP) and revenue targets. This is accomplished through revenue planning and forecasting, leading the execution of commercial strategies, and developing and executing the customer JBP. This role works closely with the total Customer Business Team to accomplish these objectives. The candidate is responsible of Sobeys Ontario (Sobeys / Freshco / Foodland / Lumsden)

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Customer Management:

  • Develop and drive broad customer relationships across all levels including Directors.

  • Responsible and accountable to lead the cross functional team in order to support the delivery of the customer JBP.

  • Responsible and accountable to lead the external communication and performance management through score carding and business reviews.

  • Responsible for selling in all innovation, Scale events and category opportunities on the business. Including communication of listing status, distribution expectations, shelf and performance.

  • Prepare the annual business plan and support the development and implementation of the customer JBP.

Revenue, Promotion and Retail Planning:

  • Accountable for the revenue plan and forecast including the key inputs into the Integrated Business Plan (IBP).

  • Accountable to oversee the trade process and to ensure a year-end balanced trade position.

  • Inform the Account Planning Manager of the upcoming activity and associated revenue impact.

  • Lead customer retail activation and target setting with their retail partners.

This role is based out of the Bloor Street Office in Toronto

Travel Requirements

Role will require very little travel, National meetings and training session will be the majority of the travel.

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Sales is a must

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Account Management in Ontario Market

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong planning and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong working and team relationships, both internal and external to the organization

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical skill

  • Strong understanding of consumption data and how to utilize the data

  • A self-starter with strong learning agility

  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
