HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Sr Financial Analyst in Terre Haute, Indiana

Position summary: This position is designed to oversee and report to the Controller on all Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Sarbanes Oxley related issues. Works very closely with the Controller, Assistant Controller, and CFO in all hospital financial operations.

Position responsibilities: • Assists in preparing reports for month end-closing procedures. • Works closely with other department heads, to assist with any financial or statistic related questions • Prepare monthly reports for corporate data submissions and compile information to evaluate performance in relation to benchmarks • Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support practice management • Assist in training of new/existing financial staff as needed • Participate in development and detailed review of operation budgets and performance benchmarks • Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved • Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure • Assists, as needed, in the preparation of the hospital budget and the annual hospital business plan. • Adheres to the Standards of Behavior for Terre Haute Regional Hospital as per the Customer Relations Policy

Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience: • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field as required; additional related experience would be considered in lieu of a completed degree program • Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices sufficient to identify and describe accounting systems and sub-systems. • Knowledge of the financial accounting process. • Knowledge of research techniques to analyze and evaluate financial data and information. • Ability to analyze financial reports. • Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports. • Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve reporting deadlines.
