POSITION SUMMARY: Provide quality care to patients under the direction of a licensed/certified personnel, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of CRMC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Demonstrates knowledge and application of basic patient care, to include activities of daily living, vital signs and accucheck. * Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform transcutaneous oxygen monitoring testing. * Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient rights to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality. * Monitors and documents information regarding patient care during the treatment of hyperbaric services. * Participate in the unit based Quality Improvement process. * Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient rights to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality. * Organizes and communicates patient care information to the team within the department * Assists with opening and closing activities of the hyperbaric unit. * Checks on and documents on equipment checklists: Crash Cart; refrigerator logs; compressor logs, etc. * Assists with transport and transfers of patients to and from the department and into the chamber. * Communicates, interacts and participates in team work on the unit. * Promotes and displays a positive customer oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff and physicians. * Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered. * Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues. * Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm. * Assist with maintaining and cleaning of the chamber daily after treatments and monthly when scheduled with the safety officer. * Assists with the maintenance and set up of hoods; masks, etc. * Ability to process daily patient charges; maintaining patient logs; personnel treatment logs, etc. * Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements. * Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety. * Regular, Punctual and dependable attendance. * Assists with stock (inventory) of non scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations. * Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: * High School or equivalency required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: * Certified Hyperbaric Technicianrequired * BLS – AHA Healthcare Providerrequired * ACLS – Preferred * PALS – Preferred EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: * * Previous acute care experience preferred * Previous hyperbaric department experiencerequired* SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: * Read and writes Basic English * Knowledge of body substance isolation * Ability to use a computer, typewriter and calculator * Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs An EEO/AA Employer M/F/V/D.
