Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is that it performs eligibility determinations for the DHMH Medical Assistance Program by applying, interpreting, and processing program specific policies, regulations, and guidelines. This position prepares for, and provides testimony at administrative hearings for appeals cases, and ensures compliance to appeal deteriminations and to program policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
Notes: 1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
