Position summary: The IT Project Manager will be responsible for leading the successful implementation of technical projects from inception to implementation. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all project efforts and effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. At this level, the Project Manager oversees 3-4 projects that are basic in both scope and complexity. Position responsibilities and essential functions: Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, requirements and deliverables. Control project scope, risk and issues. Develop high level project plans. Conduct business requirements gathering sessions. Perform business process engineering, including meeting with stakeholders, assessing current state, identifying gaps, and recommending future state. Track and monitor project deliverables using appropriate tools, and regularly communicate project status to all stakeholders. Participate in the development of project deliverables that will be supported by the PMO. Responsible for vendor management throughout the RFP process. Collaborate with IT to identify best technical solution to implement for projects. Function as a change agent for the organization and coordinate change management for projects including communications, user acceptance testing, and curriculum development/delivery. Essential skills and experience: Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and maintain highly organized work while meeting deadlines. Effective communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical/problem solving skills. Basic business process engineering skills. Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives. Effective ability to lead by consensus and influence stakeholders. Developing knowledge of project management best practices and principles. Ability to build positive working and professional relationships at all levels and across function. Required Education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or closely related field. 1 - 2 years' experience in IT project management or demonstrated project management experience.
