This is a one year fixed term position.
JOB PURPOSE: The role of the Talent Acquisition Specialist is to partner with hiring managers and local HR staff in developing and implementing recruiting strategies, including candidate sourcing, job posting/advertising, diversity outreach, and interviewing strategies. The successful candidate will be able to have an agile approach; balancing unique customer needs with a standardization of approach needed for efficiency. The successful candidate will also establish credibility with hiring managers to influence them to try new talent acquisition approaches.
Provide guidance and tools to managers covering the entire search and hiring process.
Develop processes to create pipelines of qualified candidates for positions that are commonly needed at the university.
Partner with hiring managers and local HR staff to determine basic requirements and qualifications of positions to develop job postings, candidate profiles, and selection criteria.
Set hiring manager expectations. Develop and execute service level agreements.
Cultivate pools of diverse potential candidates for future openings.
Refer searches to external employment agencies and manage vendors, as needed.
Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained, and appropriate metrics tracked.
Recruit from and/or conduct job fairs, as needed.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Deep expertise and experience developing and implementing effective talent attraction strategies and solutions.
Demonstrated ability to establish a strong partnership with the senior human resources partners and other members of the management team.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Highly-developed interviewing skills.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.
Demonstrated experience with web-based systems and recruiting sources, including the internet, social media, warm/ cold calling, referrals, events, networking, publications, industry groups/associations, and job fairs.
Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications and Licenses: None
Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
