As a key member of Hill-Rom Respiratory Care’s marketing team the marketing communications manager takes a leadership role in driving preference and sales utilizing various marketing communications delivery vehicles in the US. You will partner with product management, sales, and the Front Line Care marketing communications team to fully understand company products, positioning, competitive environment, areas of growth and other product marketing requirements, and then develop relevant integrated marketing communications programs from strategy through execution in support of the strategic goals of the business. The position requires a sound strategic thinker who can translate sometimes complex business goals and objectives into actionable, impactful communications programs. Solid writing skills, strong relationship management and the ability to drive multiple tasks to completion successfully is critical. The MarCom Manager has to be resourceful, an independent worker, quick to adapt to changes, hard-working, aggressive, someone able to get down and dirty, able to adapt to varied personalities and able to take complex concepts and messages and transform into audience-resonating stories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Other duties may be assigned:

• Working with internal and external resources to develop breakthrough creative and strategic communications programs to support the company’s businesses, focusing on cost effectively reaching health care teams, patients and care givers with compelling messages that generate awareness and position the company as a leader in healthcare

• Developing targeted, competitive messaging that breaks through the clutter, and helps our sales force build preference for our brands across the portfolio

• Plans and executes relevant communications programs in support of key product launches

• Working collaboratively with marketing, in-house FLC designers and agencies, manage the creative development and implementation of tactics including photography, sales tools, sales promotions, traditional, social and digital advertising, interactive and direct response marketing programs to support our aggressive marketing, communications and sales objectives

• Providing on-going strategic and tactical leadership to help develop results-driven trade and end-user direct marketing and sales promotion programs. Special emphasis on developing trackable, measurable promotions that generate real-world results

• Working collaboratively with other regional Marketing Communications managers, share best practices for MarCom and raise visibility within the company


  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (BS/BS) in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications with experience working in a fast-paced professional setting either in an agency or in-house communications group.

  • 7-11 years of experience managing advertising, digital marketing and sales promotions in an advertising agency or in-house corporate communications setting strongly preferred

  • Experience working with a global company and interacting with international peers is a plus

  • Exceptional project management skills and a keen understanding of all Marketing Communications tactics and their purpose

  • Ability to provide strategic direction to designers, freelancers and agency partners

  • Proven track record of successful planning and implementation of marketing communications or advertising programs (examples will be required)

  • Team player and a “can-do” attitude who can participate in and lead effort across disciplines and functions

  • Experience in the field of medical device and healthcare a plus

  • Exceptional communication/presentation skills

  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional and diversified teams
