General Dynamics Information Technology Senior - Geospatial Analyst (FS/ISSA Clearance) in Springfield, Virginia
Performs data analysis, interpretation and management duties. Develops rules and methodologies for data collection and analysis to analyze and visualize patterns, trends, and predictions within geospatial data sources.
Provides analysis and research for national security, infrastructure, technology, country, geographic area, biographic and targeted vulnerability. Analysis may include but are not limited to Line of Sight (LOS), Viewsheds, Helicopter Landing Zone (HLZ), route and slope analysis, etc.
Prepares assessments of current threats and trends based on the sophisticated collection, research and analysis of classified and open source information.
Working knowledge of various types of geospatial information systems (GIS) and electronic light tables (ELT) including ArcGIS, Socet GXP, Remote View, etc.
Develops and supervises analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operational success.
Collects data using a combination of standard intelligence methods and business processes.
Performs and manages data collection, analysis, interpretation, and management duties.
Delivers presentations that reflect the results of the data analysis.
Develops and provides data-related training to staff.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.
Participates in special projects as required.
Able to work and operate independently in hazardous overseas locations including Afghanistan and Iraq. Must be able pass medical, psychological, and dental examinations prior to any overseas deployment.
Able to pass the GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC) within 90 days of hiring start date.
Able to communicate effectivity to refine and manage customer requirements to produce tailored, timely, and accurate geospatial products.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Geography or a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience.
10-15 years of related experience supporting statistics/data analysis and programming in data analytical language.
Demonstrated MS Word; PowerPoint; database entry and graphic design principles skills. Candidate must have knowledge and experience with digital cartography; image processing; computer technology; geographical information systems (GIS) geospatial production techniques; remote sensing; and photogrammetry. Candidate must have knowledge of and experience with ArcGIS; ArcSDE; ArcView; ArcIMS; ArcTools; the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system; SocetSet; TerraExplorer/Builder; RemoteView; ERDAS IMAGINE; MRSID; VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language); Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data. Must have the capability to read and understand intelligence issues; military affairs; and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems. Candidate must have expertise in photogrammetry; remote sensing; image processing; or regional expertise is also desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of commercial imagery; products; processes and sensors. Demonstrated customer support skills.
