Hiring for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shifts. This job will require working various shifts, overtime, and some off-shift production support

Major Responsibilities - Coordinate material handling/production control and related activities for Vehicle, Stamping and Injection Molding, such as:

  • Implements safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Support Corporate audit readiness (ISO, UAW GM Health & Safety, GMS)
  • Supports BPD / scorecard achievement
  • Represents the department in various activities or committees as required
  • Supports and participates in prototype, pilot and model change programs
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance safety and ergonomic requirements
  • Replaces Material Shift Leaders and Group Leaders as required
  • Develops and maintains labor relation and compliance to the local agreement
  • Coordinate hourly headcount activities: facilitate shift preference moves; managing posting process (63b and 63a’s); training coordination, grievance processing and discipline documentation; facilitate weekly shift UAW and Management Leadership meetings, maintain vacation schedule, overtime equalization, etc.
  • Develops changes to improve existing conditions (layouts, ergonomics, routings, tooling, facilities, and material) and communicate requirements through implementation
  • Responsible to oversee plant floor Plan for Every Part activity (packaging, DLOC, ULOC, Min/Max, piece bank)
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance to PRSA processes
  • Coordinates material department mobile equipment assignments

Knowledge/Skills and Ability

  • Deep knowledge of material department operation and manufacturing processes
  • Deep understanding of material flow and requirements
  • Deep knowledge of unit scheduling and inventory control systems
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement and apply GMS principles
  • Working MGO and GEPICS knowledge

Preferred Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 5-10+ years of experience is relevant field
  • Multi-plant or functional experience – GSC & Production
