Washington State DSHS Psychologist 4 in Snoqualmie, Washington


You can make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth when you join the dedicated team at Echo Glen Children's Center. This is a permanent position located in Snoqualmie, Washington which is approximately 25 miles, and a half-hour drive from Seattle and eastside cities.

You will provide collaboration, support and quality control for mental health programs, services and consultants for the Integrated Treatment Model - Dialectical Behavior Therapy - in a Juvenile Rehabilitation secure facility for juvenile offenders. Echo Glen programming is consistent with the requirements of the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, the Performance-based Standards PbS, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards.

Your role is to:

  • Collaborate on the design, development, implementation, assessment, quality control and evaluation of manualized strength and evidence based clinical programs and services.
  • Collaborate in consistent implementation of the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), applying the principles of Positive Youth Development.
  • Provide appropriate assessments and professional services that determine and address areas of resident strength, need, and level of risk. Experience implementing the BASC assessment is desired.
  • Collaborate in providing social services that include skills training, individual, group, and family counseling, as well as, treatment programs based on assessed strength, risk and need.
  • Participate in providing gender specific and gender responsive programs.
  • Collaborate with Echo Glen Psychology Consultants to ensure the services required by their contracts are provided.
  • Submit an annual work plan that covers areas of responsibility with monthly updates.

Who should apply? Professionals with a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited school or Department of Psychology.


Possession of a license to practice psychology in the state of Washington.


Possession of a license to practice as a Psychologist outside of Washington State and eligible to obtain a Washington State license to practice as a Psychologist before/by the official start of employment.

All higher education must be accredited and recognized by the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) and/or the United States Department of Education (USDE).

Echo Glen Children's Center is operated by the Department of Social and Health Services, Rehabilitation Administration (RA), and serves Washington State's highest-risk youth. Youth are committed to RA custody by county juvenile courts and typically have committed many lower-level offenses or have committed a serious crime.

This position functions in a Juvenile Rehabilitation secure care institution. Work is both indoors and outdoors in a moderate to high-risk environment serving juvenile offenders with complex rehabilitation needs including chemical dependency, cognitive impairment, mental health issues and sexual offending histories who may exhibit physical and verbal aggressiveness. The employee in this position must be able to participate as an active member of the treatment team for youth who have behavioral, social, and/or medical problems and who may exhibit non-compliant behavior.
