Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow and support all Company safety, GMP, HACCP and ISO policies

  • Conduct Elmendorf tear tests as required

  • Conduct dart drop tests as required

  • Gauge film using measure tech as required

  • Give breaks to Packers as needed/required.

  • Fill in for Production Packer on all lines

  • Change and update Forms

  • Inventory supplies weekly

  • Perform quality checks on all lines and take appropriate action on non-conforming product.

  • Report non-conformances to Lead and/or Dept Lead

  • Label packaging as needed

  • Use computer to run labels, schedules and Forms

  • Fill in for Lead SQC as requested

  • Maintain housekeeping, empty trash and move to compactor, clean break room and other tasks as assigned

  • Estimate production rates and coordinate with other , Lead , and Section Leads

Education and/Or Experience

Education: High Diploma/ GED

Experience: 6 months as a Production Packer or Quality Inspector

Minimum education and years of experience should not be used exclusive of other leveling factors described below.

Other Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge in performing quality testing on product

  2. Ability to operate office equipment and PC

  3. Ability to operate a forklift

  4. Ability to train new employees

  5. Ability to communicate with employees who may not speak English

  6. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and order forms or checklists. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers.

  7. Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, surfaces, measures, circumference and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

  8. Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
