Job DescriptionThe AFT Automation Technologies team is developing state of the art IoT sensor technologies, computer vision and automation systems for Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. We are combining novel hardware, distributed software systems and computer vision to solve real-world problems at a huge scale. Our team collaborates with a variety of customers across Amazon to conceive, develop, prototype and deploy a wide range of systems. Our team develops both hardware and software prototypes and carries them through to large-scale deployments within Amazon. Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field * Or, equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree * Computer Science fundamentals in data structures * Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis * Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design * Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in software development Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs. Experience building highly scalable, high availability services Experience in real-time analytical systems and machine learning.
