Primary Responsibilities HDR is seeking a Senior Transit Planner in the Washington area to assist on and manage light rail transit projects. The individual in this position will plan, direct, and oversee all aspects of large multi-disciplinary rail transit planning projects, including Environmental (NEPA) documents. The individual in this position will be a key member of the HDR Transit Market Sector team and will be responsible for the pursuit and management of major transit planning projects. The position will involve high profile project pursuits and extensive client interactions. The person in this position will direct the work of others toward the completion of required studies documents and reports. Extensive public participation agency coordination planning and programming experience is required. The person in this position leads scope development and execution in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals in multiple transportation and environmental disciplines. They are responsible for coordinating project staffing and workload management on transportation planning projects. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Planning/Engineering or similar. Professional registration such as AICP, PE or PMP is required. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with transit planning projects and programs. Experience with the FTA project development process is desired. Willingness to participate and take leadership roles in professional/industry groups is required. Ability to take part in business development and marketing activities is required. Well-developed analytical organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills. Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
