Amazon Web Services (AWS) Finance is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the AWS Enterprise Applications team. Amazon Web Services offers a selection of enterprise productivity applications that run as a service in the AWS Cloud. These applications for corporate email & calendaring, document collaboration, virtual desktops and more make it easy to meet the usability, performance & reliability expectations of employees, while simultaneously delivering on the security and compliance requirements of the most demanding enterprise IT organizations. This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers, Engineers, sales and business development.

He/she will own managing business plans for Enterprise Applications, develop financial models for both short and long term business and financial goals, evaluate new business opportunities and drive business initiatives. In addition, he/she will develop Service-Line P&Ls, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business, and drive ad-hoc business projects. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new service launches; understand cost models and drive pricing decisions

  • Support the business P&Ls and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or AWS adoption

  • Provide deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business team leaders

  • Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, including short and long range financial/operational forecasts, and communicating results to senior management

  • Develop and standardize financial reports

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • BA/BS degree required

  • Advanced Excel modeling & analytical skills

  • MBA or equivalent degree preferred.

  • Financial modeling, P&L management and/or analysis experience

  • Ability to understand multiple business dimensions and draw inferences by connecting various inputs.

  • Strong business partner experience; experienced in working with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills

  • Track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines

  • The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy

  • Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse

  • Experience in a technology company or high-tech environment
