This team is responsible for driving innovation one of the largest distributed storage systems in the world. The engineering research in this area consists of technology exploration in the storage media hardware space, distributed systems algorithms for data placement, workload identification and management, garbage collection systems, and machine learning decision engines. The S3 storage team projects have the most significant financial impacts on the S3 service. The leader for this team will be responsible for the career development of a set of highly skilled and experienced engineers. They will own the road map definition and prioritization for the team including initiatives to deliver new features, drive quality, and drive innovation.
