Amazon Logistics is seeking an experienced, highly analytical, and motivated Program Manager to join our North America last mile delivery network with the goal to provide our customers with the best possible delivery experience. The successful candidate will drive customer demand forecasting, supply chain integration, and last mile delivery execution to support a rapidly growing delivery network. The candidate will have a keen interest in big data and technology. Overview of a Program Manager:

The Program Manager works across the NA organization in a cross-functional environment with the Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, Technology teams, and the Retail organizations to determine future customer demand forecasting. The Program Manager translates this forecast information into accurate capacity plans for existing delivery stations as well as develops the capacity plans for upcoming new launches. S/he also maintains and reports up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis. S/he also facilitates the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolves any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. Planning Analysts provide timely resolution to the issue in hand by researching and querying internal tools and by making real-time decisions. An ideal candidate should be able to understand the requirements/be able to analyze data and notice trends and be able to drive Customer Experience without compromising on time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and evaluate customer demand by day of the week and translate into last mile delivery requirements at the delivery station level to optimize operations and cost

  • Interface with launch teams in the field as well as existing delivery stations to work through operation issues and incorporate feedback to improve the execution of demand forecasts

  • Understand and assess simulation results and the business impact of trends to make the best decisions based on available data.

  • Configure the inputs driving shipping decisions for packages in our North America transportation network.

  • Define metrics to measure transportation performance and drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce non-value added work.

  • Pull and report data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed is a plus – this ability will be developed over time for a candidate who is fundamentally strong analytically.

  • Scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools are used by Transportation and Operations.

  • Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years supply chain, logistics management, e-commerce and/or project management experience

  • Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data

  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL; Tableau a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to successfully interface across cross-functional teams

  • Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience working with IT professionals and process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5-10 years professional experience (in transportation, network design or e-commerce)

  • Master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations research, business analytic fields.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and usage of additional software development tools and techniques.

  • Significant work experience in operations/supply chain/logistics/e-commerce.

  • Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
