Content Acquisition Manager (Print on Demand) in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Print on Demand (POD) is an innovative fulfillment solution for books that improves sourcing efficiency and product availability for customers. POD maintains a library of ready to print digital files – once a customer orders a book, POD uses the digital file to print and ship a physical copy to the customer. As a result, POD has the ability to keep every book in stock for our customers - without storing any inventory. We are looking for an enthusiastic, results driven, and creative Content Acquisition Manager to join our business team- someone who is passionate about authors, readers, books, and technology – and about improving and growing new programs that will impact millions of customers.

The content acquisition manager works directly with multiple internal teams, vendors, partners and management. This role is an ideal next step for someone who is looking to own and grow a business at scale. The Content Acquisition Manager will be responsible for owning and growing the POD business through building relationships with POD publishers and working with them to enroll their content and grow their POD business on Amazon overall. This role will manage the entire content acquisition process from publishers and drive end to end management of content ingestion within Amazon systems including training, on-boarding, and technical processing.

The right candidate will possess a strong business or vendor management background - will be highly organized, with a strong bias for action and ability to independently drive projects. The candidate must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. The right candidate will be flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting. They will be able to think strategically about operational processes and develop and use data-driven analysis – but also will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and manage the details.

The Content Acquisition Manager will be responsible for the following:

· Lead and manage small to medium size POD publisher relationships – including outreach, global coordination, negotiations and contracts/ content commitments.

· Develop, drive, and own content acquisition and management strategy - to continually drive growth and scalability.

· Develop and own tracking/ auditing metrics to scalably and continually track / report on progress

· Identify opportunities to drive growth and scale and develop new tools and process to scalably track and capture these opportunities.

· Work cross-functionally to continually identify ways to scale and automate.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years in vendor/ business management experience in a consumer-facing or technology role

  • Strong background and rich experience in project management

  • Proven experience with making data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results; ability to take ideas from concept to execution

  • 2+ years in negotiation or influencing experience

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done

  • Experience in process improvement or managing programs/ processes in high-volume, scalable environments

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), time management skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional environment

  • Experience operating in a global / e-commerce environment

  • Strong proficiency in analysis tools including Microsoft Excel and SQL
