Business and Sales Intelligence Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Education team is seeking a data-savvy professional to create, report on, and monitor business and sales metrics for our institutional offerings. This role will own a variety of day-to-day functions and will drive business reviews and customer analysis. He/she will be a critical member of the team collaborating with Sales, Account Management, Product Management, and Finance teams.

The successful candidate will have strong data analysis skills, superior Excel skills, knowledge of SQL, strong creative and problem-solving skills, and project management and collaborative abilities. He/she will be a self-starter who will have ability to deal with ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities:

· Organize data and generate deep customer insight in order to enhance customer experience, product prioritization, and sales force productivity

· Support and transition manual xls processes into scalable, automated processes

· Propose and prioritize changes to reporting and create additional metrics and processes based on program changes and customer requirements

· Partner with finance to manage sales forecasting and sales pipeline process; analyzing revenue trends and variances to goals

· Create comprehensive dashboards and automated metrics reports for sales and performance metrics, revenue, renewal rates, etc

· Detect emerging customer or market trends and help determine how the business can meet those opportunities and challenges to drive greater sales success

· Own business review process for the team, including defining key metrics and how we track and report them

· Support ad-hoc data analysis requests

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, related technical field, or equivalent work experience

· 6+ years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, market research or related field

· Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports

· Experience using SQL, ETL, and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

· Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.)

· Demonstrated experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills

· MBA and/or Master’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or computer science

· Experience working with B2B products

· Ability to think strategically and at the same time stay on top of tactical execution
