Business Analyst, Last Mile Experience in Seattle, Washington

The Worldwide Amazon Logistics Business Analyst will support this mission by creating data structures for business intelligence analytics, first gathering business and functional requirements and then translating these requirements into scalable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture. Additionally, this role will mine and analyze data that supports business proposals, product launches, and performance deep dives.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Retrieve and analyze data using Oracle SQL, Excel and other data management systems

  2. Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

  3. Report key insight trends using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines

  4. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when and which to use

  5. Develop and propose new metrics, recommend strategies to stakeholders for improved business results, and work across the organization to make actionable intelligence available to business stakeholders

  6. Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of projects and initiatives

  7. Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders with a sense of urgency

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline
  8. Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in a business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology or experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics solutions

  9. Minimum three (3) years of experience with SQL

  10. Proficiency at querying and creating simple relational databases

  11. Experience in data mining, ETL, web scraping etc. and using databases in a business environment

  12. Ability to script in Python, Perl or Bash

  13. The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazons core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices

    1. Advanced degree in a related discipline preferred
  14. Minimum three (3) years of experience using business intelligence reporting tools (SiSense, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.)

  15. Experience with Machine Learning Concepts and tools (Python, R, SAS)
