Description:

What separates a Senior Project / Portfolio Manager from a Senior Project Manager is the ability to develop and mentor project managers in the discipline and to also have the personal capabilities of executing complex supply chain projects. This position will be responsible for not only their assigned projects but the projects assigned to any team member under their leadership.

The position will report into the Regional project management office (PMO) leader. A key to success is in the development of a portfolio tool that clearly demonstrates the active customer projects being executed with an updated status and phase, the commercial pursuits being worked with value and complexity, and the resources under the portfolio and level of effort being applied. The successful candidate if not currently a certified project manager will be required to become credentialed (PMP®) within twenty-four months of accepting the position, and will drive methodologies and tools that are standard within project management.

Accountabilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Regional Portfolio Management: Working the regional portfolio, making changes through direct communications with Project Managers, Business Development/Account Management resources and other project team members. Alignment of resources to insure the right level of focus is applied to all projects within the region.

  • Business Development Support: Creating Project Briefs for cost estimations feeding into a pricing model, development of RFP response materials, and making customer presentations on implementation methodologies.

  • Resource Development: Driving the development of skills of project management & implementation resources within the regions

  • Project Management: Managing complex engagement for new and existing customers. Applying all PM tools & methodologies covering Cost, Schedule, Scope, Resource and Communications management.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent education
