JOB REQUIREMENTS: Machine Operator for a Merrill area company with OT! The Machine Operator uses equipment for highly repetitive and/or standardized work, which form wire pieces into predetermined shapes. This process needs to be completed timely, safely, and efficiently while producing a quality product, and meeting customer specifications. This is a try-hire opportunity with mandatory 58 hours per week. Machine Operator Duties: Safely operate equipment, completing single piece operation with precision. This requires picking and placing various wire parts into and out of machine while meeting production rates. Perform a visual check on completed parts and check parts using proper gauges and samples, ensuring they are within the customer's specifications, and documenting these checks on the job card. Comply with all supply procedures. Produce accurate product quantities by using the counter. Maintain minimum operating rate. Ability to turn the machine on and off (using adjustable safety die block) when needed. Able to work over-time hours as necessary determined by business need. Maintain a clean and safe work area around machines. Move finished product bins if necessary. Assist in the training of new employees as requested by supervisor. Stacking of wire parts when required. Monitor quantities during an order to properly split orders as needed. Layer parts with paper or cardboard and label with cards at every shift change. Blueprint reading capabilities desired. Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Machine Operator required skills and abilitites: Potential for irregular work schedules including overtime due to manufacturing fluctuating needs. Withstand frequent repetition of fingers, hands, wrists and shoulders. Bending and lifting wire parts from bins (between floor and waist height). The bins are placed adjacent to workstation, individual parts placed in the machine weigh up to 10lbs., occasionally lift bulk parts weighing up to 25lbs. or more from bin to worktable. Ability to work in other departments and on other equipment (within same skill level) when requested. Reading and writing literacy required. Positive attitude and exemplary attendance.
