Job Summary

This role will be based in Santa Clara Valley area to focus on tax policy developments in and outside of the U.S. The ideal candidate will work closely with various global tax team members and business teams in order to gain a deep understanding of the business and policy matters of importance to Apple. Using this deep understanding the candidate will help develop and shape constructive tax policy approaches and participate in coalitions and other external programming to advance sound U.S. and foreign tax policy.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) - ten (10) years of relevant experience

  • Understanding of accounting concepts

  • Knowledge of federal tax policy, including legislative and regulatory processes

  • Hard working, quicker learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism

  • Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment

  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners is needed

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management

  • Able to analyze and review data and operational information to make appropriate recommendations

  • Ability to simplify complex tax policy issues into high level presentations to business partners

  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and online research software

  • Some travel domestically and internationallyDescription

This position will focus on new and evolving tax policy matters. The candidate will work closely with other members of the global tax department to communicate such policy matters in order to obtain cross functional tax subject matter input and gain an understanding of potential impacts to Apple. The candidate is expected to collaborate effectively and to function as a tax policy advisor.

Primary job duties:

Identify potential changes in global tax policies

Participate in coalitions, trade groups, and similar organizations to help develop and promote sound tax policy

Liaise with global tax team members and business partners to gather input on possible tax policy recommendations

Explain potential impacts to Apple as a result of tax policy initiatives and make recommendations to upper management regarding providing input on such policy matters

Education

Must have BA or BS, preferably in Accounting, Taxation or Business; JD, CPA or graduate degree in Accounting, taxation, policy or business is a plus.
