The ED Tech will provide a basic EMT, Patient Care Tech, or C.N.A. level of patient observation noting patient complaint and condition and communicating this observation to the triage nurse to help them facilitate throughput as urgently as possible. * Demonstrates knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs. * Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to all customers. * Plans, organizes and communicates patient care activities to the patient and Registered Nurse. * Rounds on patients and their families providing updates an wait times, offering comfort for patient’s needs, addressing problems and concerns. * Performs duties in a manner that promotes a team concept and reflects our mission and values. * Helps tidy up the waiting areas, treatment areas, and surrounding bathrooms. * coordinates appropriate departmental response to assist with addressing needs and requirements. * Assist/escort visitors and patients entering and exiting the Emergency Department. * Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patients right to privacy and protection of patients confidentiality. * Communicates clearly and effectively in person and over the telephone. * Participates in the department based quality improvement process. * Monitors and documents information regarding patient actives, as directed by the registered nurse.

  • High School Graduate
  • EMT, CNA or Patient Care Tech
  • EMT, Paramedic training, or Certified Nursing Assistant, and Patient Care Technician
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred* *
  • Customer service training and/or background
