Schedule: 1.0 (40 hours per week), Shift: Days with rotating weekends.

To provide clinical expertise and continuity of care for trauma service patients and their families on an ongoing basis. The overall goal of providing quality and optimal patient recovery while maintaining costs is achieved through a case management approach. This approach is directed by the Nurse Practitioner who collaborates with the Care Coordinators and other disciplines to organize care delivery and to facilitate the flow of the patient through the system. Provides input in the development of standardized procedures and protocols and to assist the Trauma Program Director to meet departmental goals and objectives. This position reports directly to the Trauma Program Director. This position must also maintain a close working relationship with staff in all departments including, physicians serving the trauma program, Medical Director of Trauma Service, Department Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Trauma Registrars and the Trauma Program Assistant. This position will meet the requirements of the facility nursing services matrix to meet professional aspects and regulatory issues and scope of practice.


Minimum: Current CA RN License, Nurse Practitioner license. BLS, ACLS, TNCC or TNATC provider. TNCC instructor preferred. PALS or ENPC required at least once.

Minimum: Five years acute care experience as an RN in ED, ICU, or O.R. Recent experience in a designated trauma center Experience in Trauma Nursing and trauma systems ACS, JCAHO, state and federal regulations affecting and involving quality assessment/improvement as they relate to trauma programs preferred Preferred: 3-5 years managerial or supervisory experience.

Minimum: BSN or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree Nurse Practitioner,

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, and Emergency/Trauma/ orthopedic care. Minimum: Effective front line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement Preferred: Completion of formal management training
