As a Sr Build & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining highly scalable solutions including continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, release management and support for all production and development application systems. As a member of the team, you work alongside Software Engineers to ensure our services and products seamlessly move from development through roll-out and into production for internal and cloud based applications.
In this role, you will:
Designs software solutions to take advantage of opportunities and new technologies, acting as a partner to and a team member of the Engineering and Operations Teams
Support and improve our tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management
Responsible for implementing strategies for continuous delivery of custom GE software on the cloud
Act as a technologist resource, to guide development teams through tough spots in migrations to the cloud
Supporting role on the “on-call” rotation (24/7) maintaining a distributed, high availability software environment
Work with geographically distributed scrum teams, working on different releases of the product
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques
Able to deliver commercial products on-premises and in an IAAS/ PAAS /SAAS environment
Understand performance parameters and assess application performance Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with 3 years of experience.

Strong scripting skills (bash, Python, SQL, PERL, etc).
Solid understanding of operating systems, especially Linux(Ubuntu, RedHat).Desirable Experience:
Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery
Experience with AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud Computing or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of distributed internet technologies including TCP/IP, firewalls, load balances, and web application architectures.
Experience configuring and maintaining source code control systems such as GitHub/Git.
Create and implement branch and merge strategies.
Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet/Chef/Ansible.
Experience with design, development and testing of automateddeployment scripts. (Jenkins etc.)
Expertise of build tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle.
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc)
Operational Knowledge of NoSQL software like Cassandra,MongoDB, CouchDB, Hadoop, memcache, Active MQ, ElasticSearch
Experience working with container technology such as Dockerand/or Vagrant.
Experience working with version control systems (Subversion,SVN, git, github, etc)
Experience with deploying and management of systemsleveraging AWS (EC2, EB, Route 53, S3, Elasticache, and more)
Experience architecting or managing AWS (or similar) cloudinfrastructure
Experience with cloud platform (VMware, OpenStack, AWS, etc)production deployments
REST APIs, JSON, and SOAP XML
Experience working in a challenging and fastpaced environment
Knowledge of deploying applications on-premises and in the cloud.
