  • Primary Purpose*

The Wholesale Data Management Group (WDMG) is responsible for the information strategy and data shared across the 40 business units comprising the Wholesale Banking Group. This includes common data architecture sourced from over 100 systems of record, several dozen datamarts and other services supporting over >30k users, which are integrated with front-end/operating systems as well as back-end reporting and analytics, including in other parts of Wells Fargo.

This position will report to VP and Lead, Credit Risk Data Manager, Wholesale Data Management Group (WDMG).

  • Lead a team dedicated to building and executing data remediation plans for Systems of Record (SORs) and Systems of Origination (SOOs) managed within the Wholesale lines of businesses, with a primary focus toward the Credit Systems of Record.

  • Coordinate with data managers in the Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Market/Counterparty Risk domains, as well as the Financial Controllers, to develop the requirements that will drive the remediation activities.

  • Work collaboratively with the tech and business partners that manage these systems to quantify gaps against new requirements, develop remediation plans, then execute & monitor those plans through completion.

  • Partner with tools/technology to develop new platforms or extend existing platforms for data collection.

  • Develop prototypes and tactical solutions that meet functional requirements for risk and finance partners, and that demonstrate requirements to technology partners.

  • Draft & present technical documentation and project summaries including project definition documents, business requirements documents, and presentations for senior management

  • Support other tasks related to the Data Management functions as we continue to expand our scope and control over the Risk functional data

  • Build strong relationships with the various risk and finance functional leads, primarily focused on Credit Risk.

  • Build relationships with other industry peer banks to gain insights on learning/best practices on data management

  • Lead and support a small team that is dedicated to these same goals

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • 4+ years of management experience
