CareFusion Business Description Our Pyxis® automated dispensing solutions have effectively changed the ways medications are delivered to patients and supplies are obtained and distributed across care units. Our products can help to increase medication safety, reduce the risk of medication errors, facilitate regulatory compliance and enhance security and the quality of care. Accountabilities: This San Diego-based position will be responsible for leading efforts to develop and execute upon a product / solution strategy, associated business cases, and roadmaps to deliver key solutions initiatives that support the Pyxis Medication Dispensing Platform. Many key solutions will have a 12-36 month execution timeline and will incorporate a phased approach to delivering on the solution.
Strategy: •With leadership, drive the creation of growth strategies, new product categories, services, business models or businesses, and of internal processes and structures that have the potential to generate significant new value for customers and for the Pyxis Medication Dispensing Platform •Works with implementation, technical support, global customer service, international and sales organizations to ensure maximum penetration of market segments. •Proactively collects detailed customer insights and market trends using market research, market sensing, customer centricity, other information-gathering methods and related analytics to inform marketing and product development decision-making, plans and activities that enhance delivery of marketing strategy and business results. Builds strong business cases for product/service opportunities. •Identifies and leads process of evaluating new/growth opportunities, strategic partners, and acquisition targets. •Coordinates with Requirements Development, clinical teams, hardware and software teams to obtain and document the appropriate voice of customer feedback to ensure successful solutions. •Delivers customer focused innovation that leverages horizontal collaboration across BU’s to uniquely position Pyxis Dispensing solutions to our customers.
Solution Development: •Leads efforts for assessment and identification of opportunities to shape, develop and direct market growth by focusing on critical issues faced by customers and other key stakeholders, collaborating with the thought leaders in policy, medical, science and advocacy to align to initiatives that drive growth. •Provides domain expertise in assigned market segments; developing solutions in support of the company strategic action plan. •Identifies customer needs for new solutions and provides input to product development for formulation of specific product requirements. •Assists in the definition of product scope and priorities during development cycles. •Leads focus groups and other established customer (internal and external) feedback mechanisms/tools in order to demonstrate both a good understanding of customer needs, but also to obtain VOC and confirmation at development milestones •Supports horizontal product integration across products within segment, between segment and between other BD business lines. •Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations •Collaborates with R&D and Global Learning Management to ensure appropriate messaging and education in regard to key solution capabilities
Product Marketing: •For assigned products/solutions, contributes to the development and execution of go-to-market and other marketing plans and related programs, including working collaboratively within teams, taking prompt action to solve problems and conflicts, and meeting or exceeding SMART goals •Works closely with downstream marketing and cross-functional teams in the launch of new products •Provides guidance to downstream marketing on marketing initiatives and programs for assigned products. What is expected of you for success in your role •Develops and champion go-to-market and other marketing plans for assigned products/solutions; serves as a mentor to junior members of the team •Demonstrates advanced understanding and experience in solution management •Identifies market opportunities, develops, implements and manages solutions, and provides subject matter expertise in complex situations •Assesses financial implications, including profitability, viability and return on investment for complex product/market portfolios or segments that have significant organizational impact •Confidently evaluates and balances risks and tradeoffs •Identifies and monitors key measures on program scope, tasks, issues, timelines, and resources to ensure program success •Leads the identification and management of critical issues for customers •Demonstrates capabilities towards advancing transformational, breakthrough innovation across the organization •Partner with Medical Affairs and Health Economic Outcomes groups to define, plan, and execute studies and data collection efforts focused on value identification and articulation to the market
•7-10 years minimum experience in enterprise software product management, with an emphasis on new product / service innovation development, new market entry, or market exploration in which extensive business cases and go-to-market strategies were developed is required. •Bachelor's degree in marketing, science, engineering, nursing, technical, or related field required •MBA required •Previous experience with developing pricing models for software licensing and maintenance required. . •5-10 years minimum experience in hospital or outpatient clinical settings strongly preferred • Previous experience managing, implementing, or serving as a super user trainer for Automated Dispensing Technologies within the inpatient healthcare environment strongly preferred. •Previous international or global product management experience is highly preferred. •In depth understanding of the US medication management processes and marketplace; experience in global market(s) medication management practices a strong plus. •Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams •Proficient with Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint •Ability to travel up to 35% of the time •Willing to relocate to the San Diego area
