Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform on site and distance technical support to the US Navy Fleet for the SPS-67 Surface Search Radar system by:
Provide technical support to ship and land-based test sites for installation and troubleshooting of assigned AN/SPS-67 Surface Search Radar systems.
Develop and update technical documentation, procedures, and reports in support of all aspects of system maintenance.
Coordinate and conduct test and evaluation events.
Troubleshoot AN/SPS-67 hardware and software related faults.
Develop Field Change and Alteration Packages
Provide depot parts support by inspecting and repairing items to be returned to condition A.
Research and submit orders for items in support of installations and testing.
Ability to lift 30 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolding, walk long distances, and work in high places.
This position can require U.S and international travel up to 50% of annually assigned hours for durations of two weeks or more. Travel subject to short notice.
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
High School graduate (or GED equivalency).
Minimum of five (5) years combined technical experience and training at U.S. Navy schools or accredited technical schools or training facilities.
Three (3) years technical experience in the area of naval electronic or mechanical system installation, modification, test or repair.
Ability to read and decipher Electronic and Mechanical schematics and Ships Installation drawings (SIDS)
Basic computer troubleshooting skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Extensive experience with AN/SPS-67 Surface Search Radar
Copper and fiber optic connector termination qualified.
AN/SPS-73 Radar Experience.
Furuno Navigation Radar Experience.
Assistant Navigator / Quartermaster experience.
Preferred former Navy Surface Electronics Technician.
Shipboard or ECDIS-M system maintenance certification.
Current Secret Clearance.
Active and valid Passport.
