INGENESIS is seeking qualified candidates for PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN positions to provide full time services in San Diego, California.


• Have a minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 18 months with clinical psychiatric experience. • Possess one of the following: ◦ A current, unrestricted license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands OR ◦ A current unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands OR ◦ Possess a level one national certification as Psychiatric Technician


• Provide services Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, between 0630 and 1930. Working 8.5 hour or 13 hour shift, not to exceed 80 hours per 2-week period.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the management of a therapeutic milieu; providing structure, social support, patient education, safety and social skills training. • Provide care for patients utilizing proper infection control and safety techniques as planned and/or ordered. • Maintain clinical documentation using proper terminology, collect data, and prepare reports in accordance with clinic policies. • Use therapeutic assessment and interview skills to illicit accurate and concise accounts of the patient’s condition. • Use sound judgment and crisis intervention skills, including physical restraint to prevent or reverse situations which may be potentially harmful. • Screen patients to determine presenting problems and priority. This may entail telephone triage or in-person evaluation. • Present or facilitate a variety of health and wellness programs in support of the clinic. • Exhibit a basic knowledge of psychotropic medications including actions, side effects and common dosages. • Co-facilitate prescribed individual or group therapy sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures and independently facilitate educational groups. • Regularly interface with staff and patients to assess needs and continuously improve the quality of service delivered. • Provide administrative support as needed.
