Hill-Rom Field Service Technician II in San Diego, California
Title: Field Service Technician II
Location: United States-California-San Diego
The primary duties of a Field Service Tech II (FST II) involves performing complex repair work on a various of medical equipment. These repairs are beyond simple and minor cosmetic repairs or component replacements often involving electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair. In addition, the FST II may also be responsible for the pick-up and delivery of medical equipment using a company provided box truck or van at customer/healthcare facilities. This position works as part of an on-call rotation that involves a 24/7/365 operation. This position involves direct customer contact and will include frequent patient transfers. Also responsible for following identified safety procedures.
Additional Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute pre installation maintenance, including ‘preventive maintenance’ and ‘between patient inspection’ and modification procedures on various Hill-Rom products
This position also involves using a company provided mobile device to update completed work as well as view instruction manuals used in performing repairs.
Required Experience, Education and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; applicable technical or trade school training preferred
Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards
Obtain and maintain a DOT physical card required
2 years’ experience working hands on with medical devices or FDA regulated products
2 years of customer service experience
Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, analyze, and apply technical information including but not limited to technical manuals, technical bulletins, schematics, etc.
Strong computer skills to perform assignments including proficient use of required software programs including MS Word, MS Excel.
Mastery of basic mathematical skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Must wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing. Gloves supplied include both latex and non-latex materials.
Frequently works in environments were biohazards could be present. i.e. Hospitals, Service Centers, and Depots
Must comply with Hill-Rom infection control policies
