Under the general direction of the Chief Clinical/Nursing Officer and collaborating with the Emergency Medical Director, independently sees that holistic individualized care is provided by the staff in the Emergency Department and Extension in effective and timely manner. Manages the flow of patients and information to expedite care, collaborating with the physicians and EMS. Demonstrates leadership skills, business skills, clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. Contributes to the St. Mark’s Hospital Department of Nursing and the nursing profession in a positive manner.

II. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A. Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Utah. Maintains current BLS certification. B. Education: BSN required. MSN preferred. C. Experience: Must have at least 5 years of experience as charge nurse/supervisor in management role. D. Special Qualifications: Successfully completes general nursing and unit orientations. Demonstrates effective communication skills, both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to work with other departments to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills and excellent customer skills.
