SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
1.Independently gives patients’ home exercise regimen based on ACSM and AACVPR guidelines. Recommends adjustments of the exercise prescription to the Level II E.S. or R.N. 2.Demonstrates competency in the use of all exercise equipment, telemetry, computers, and outcomes monitoring systems. 3. Communicate, educate, and promote the benefits of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at health fairs, health screenings, etc. 4.Demonstrates competency with exercise equipment, telemetry monitoring equipment, computers and outcomes monitoring systems. 5.Demonstrates competency in assessing and reporting possible contraindications for exercise training in the cardiac rehabilitation gym. 6. Will be expected to expand knowledge base of Cardiac Rehab and Exercise Science through ongoing education. 7.**Will initiate cardiovascular disease risk factor and exercise teaching with outpatients in gym as needed.
Required – Experience in development and implementation of exercise programs; school and/ or work experience Preferred – Six months or more experience in a Cardiopulmonary Rehab program. Special Qualifications: Maintains current knowledge of development in the field of exercise physiology, kinesiology, human services with health and wellness and / or cardiac rehabilitation. Required – BLS Certification Preferred—ACLS Certification
EDUCATION Required – Bachelors Degree in an accredited program in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, and/ or Health and Human Services.
